The decision was made following a telephone conversation between Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili and the EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana, SNSC’s Secretariat announced on Monday.

During the telephone conversation, Jalili referred to Iran’s new package of proposals and described it as a suitable opportunity for achievement of peace, justice and development.

Highlighting new global developments, Jalili said Iran is determined to actively cooperate in resolving the issue particularly after winning support of 85 percent of people in the country’s presidential elections.

To precisely study all dimensions and aspects of Iran’s new package of proposals requires face to face negotiations, Solana said.

He expressed the hope that the upcoming meeting between the two sides would be very promising and fruitful.
